BMW remote keys tend to loose synchronization and as a result the remote will stop working, If your BMW key remote stopped working and you have changed the battery on your BMW key remote, which has not fixed the issue, you may want to try the following steps to reprogram your BMW key remote.

• Turn the ignition on to position one and turn it off within five seconds
• Remove the key blade from the ignition
• Press and hold the ‘Unlock” button
• While holding the “Unlock” button, press three times within five seconds the “Lock” button
• Release both buttons

If the procedure was successful you will notice that the car doors will lock and unlock themselves. If you have more than one key remote you will have to reprogram all keys together, so all of them are in sync with your vehicle.
